Rocky Sullivan's: Rocky Sullivan’s has followed so many other Manhattanites and moved across the river to the BK. Unfortunately the Nuremberg trials took less time than Rocky Sullivan’s to pull its shit together and move out to the old Liberty Heights Tap Room. Brooklyn needs this kind of bar. There's a roof deck, but with the beer selection running the gamut from A to B, a bodega and fire escape sounds more appealing...unless you're into theme nights. Monday night reading, trivia on Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturdays are for the legions of Celtic Hip-Hop fans, just like they had on the island. More to come, but don't complain if things aren’t moving fast enough. If you are going to make a scene at an Irish Bar in Red Hook, the part of Brooklyn the Westies call home, you better not mind having your head lopped off and left on the bar, but maybe that’s why the owners made the move to begin with. |
