Ribot:
And they’re off! Actually, they’re quite “on” at this upscale Mediterranean restaurant, which was named after Italy’s most storied racing horse. Italian influences run through Ribot’s thoroughbred menu, where $16 rock shrimp ravioli pasta sets the pace for $24 roasted lamb chops or $22 glazed baby poussin. Chef Patrick Woodside’s desserts are a steal at $8—he was the pastry chef at Windows on the World. With only 50 indoor seats, Ribot calls out to the power-lunch crowd looking to impress clients with a showing of exclusivity. Business turns to pleasure in the form of a comparably sized outdoor terrace where sunset dinners are popular. (There’s also a tastefully small bar and lounge for those in-between times.) Boasting more than 500 bottles, Ribot’s wine list is anything but limited in size.
