Revival: You could live in the Union Square area for years without ever knowing Revival exists. But Revival’s survival is dependent on its low-key status. The quaint bi-level bar adorned with revolutionary cartoon murals on the walls shouldn’t get lost in the shade of neighbor Shades of Green. Revival can hold its own with regulars at the bar on the lower level for beer specials at happy hour (4pm-7pm), plus a late-night special discount (11pm-1am). But go upstairs to snuggle up on über-cushy couches, catch up with friends, or sit back and check yourself out in the large mirrors. For the full experience, you really must check out the garden. Be sure your beer goggles aren’t so thick that you pull down signs for Thursday’s iPod night to prevent trendsters and co-eds from overrunning the place entirely. |
