Revel: Sure, it’s easy to miss Revel's discreet façade, but the address is easy enough to remember. In fact, everything about this indoor/outdoor hangout is memorable. Once the nameless "10 Little W. 12th St." bar, it's amazing how big a crowd a little name change can draw. A concrete floor and exposed brick walls wrap around a mid-sized bar. In the backyard, which even has a few trees, the stone grill sizzles with veggies, burgers, and steaks for a crowd of 20- and 30-somethings who know they’re onto something good. This seemingly effortless place doesn’t give the impression it wants to be this “cool,” but when you open a place with a backyard in this area, and hire hot staffers to watch over it, you’re going to be popular. |
