Red Light Lounge: The Red Light Lounge seems to have a lot going for it, and that doesn’t include their unfortunate choice to bathe the entire bar in red light. Running with the name, the décor is turn-of-the-century house of ill repute: antique couches, draped curtains, and bejeweled lamps abound. Bar stools are also available for those stuck in a modern mindset, along with a red-felt pool table. Drinks start around $6, and rise quickly if you want a cocktail like everyone else. A series of “beware loose women” plaques rest above the bar where they provide reading enjoyment for all (with the possible exception of loose women). Despite the setting, Red Light’s vibe is dictated by people who are working really hard to be cool. |
