Red Bar & Lounge: There aren't many spots above 14th St. that allow you to chuck wet napkins at its ceiling. However, K-town’s Red Bar & Lounge encourages it. Before throwing back their signature "Tornado" bombs (Coors Light and Johnnie Walker Black), the mostly Asian crowd have to throw to the sky the napkin coaster soaked by the very same mixture. Yes, the mixology and practice is odd, but this Korean tradition is a surprisingly perfect way to ease the stress after a long day in your midtown cubicle. So is the private karaoke room in this slick, black-light lit, rouge-red, converted apartment lounge dressed with plush couches and modern Asian artwork. Just watch out for the paper droppings. |
