Red:
Nestled in the heart of South Street Seaport, this Mexican bar and restaurant is a surprisingly pleasant find in this otherwise trite landscape of tourist traps. Inside, you’ll find two floors that resemble what could be the Blue Man Group’s ranch. Large horn shaped paper lanterns illuminate this cavernous space and huge windows provide a charming view of this area’s cobblestone roads. Red is normally filled with Wall Street workers, tourists, and NYU students who equally appreciate Mexican fare and varied tequilas. These prices are geared toward the aforementioned groups who don’t know any better, but if you must do this scene do it here and do it on a weekday.
The food was good, and the atmosphere was wonderful. However, the service was terrible (we had to find our waiter twice for drink refills, and finally for the check), AND the waiter charged far more to my debit card than the receipt said! Fortunately my bank disputed the transaction, but I really don't think this is the way a quality business is run.

Awesome
Worth the effort to go especially since they have outdoor seating on the sidewalk during the summer! Actually right next door to the famous "Body Exhibit". Food is great (hot and spicy depending on what you get) and the environment is great! Though when it gets busy, expect a small wait time. Love the big chili peppers hanging from the ceilings!
