Rebel NYC: Despite the clubby West Chelsea location, lumpy mounds of pungent black garbage bags give Rebel NYC its only real “grunge street cred.” This multi-storied venue hosts a goth dance party every Friday, but if you prefer live bands to bondage, local bands and bigger names play concerts throughout the week. Most shows are between $8 and $20 and usually stick around the rock and reggae genres. Rebel's eclectic interior boasts dance floors with hi-tech light shows, some not-so-original bottle service, and a cinder block wall performance space for concerts. It may very well be the perfect place for all those rebellious hedge-funders, er, punks. |
