Rain: The menu at this large space is safely Pan-Asian (read: Thai, Malaysian, Cambodian, and Vietnamese) and like the food, the service is just on the high side of average, keeping complaints (and maybe repeat customers) low. There are six Asian beers to choose from and the cocktail concoctions are tasty (pomegranate and champagne, various martinis made with fruit from Southeast Asia). Still, although Rain’s music selection could use revamping, the prices are fair, the food is reliably mediocre, and the décor isn’t too hard on the eyes—wood-slat ceiling, wooden booths, and brightly lit lanterns hanging above. Let one of their specialty cocktails like the Rain Sangria (white wine, peach schnapps, OJ, blue curacao, and brandy; $8.50) relax you like soothing, pre-programmed rain sounds from your alarm clock. |
