Radio Perfecto Uptown: If Columbia students are smart, this place is in good shape. Radio’s original locale has enjoyed great success serving up creative Southwestern cuisine on Avenue B and Radio Uptown should be equally successful in its location several miles up the dial. A solid zinc bar welcomes grad students, university professors, and friendly locals. Past the lounging area, a ranch-like dining area with vintage radios and turning rotisserie chickens sets the stage for a small but serviceable menu highlighted by the Lollipop Buffalo Wings appetizer. The kitchen accommodates late night crammers by staying open until 2am on weekends and they deliver. This isn’t another wannabe downtown restaurant in an uptown location—it’s simply an uptown spot with a wilder, hipper brother who lives in the East Village. |
