R Bar: R Bar is how the Brooklyn locals pronounce “Our” Bar. This former Pentecostal storefront church has space aplenty for the locals to spread out at the two rounded booths in the front room, or at the bar to catch up on old times. Serious pool players gather around the table in back. There are two-for-one drinks from 6pm–9pm weekdays and Sundays 1pm–9pm—plenty of time to savor the fresh infused cocktails like cucumber vodka and hot pepper tequila. Tuesdays are gay nights and on Thursdays, service industry folks get a free drink. If any bar knows how to keep it real, this is it.
