Imagine Andy Warhol, inspired by the Jetsons, opening a fast food diner just outside the Meatpacking District. The informal dining area occupying the front of this stylized spot could almost be seen as a trippy interpretation of a Silver Spurs outpost that’s been run through the Meatpacking District’s hipifying machine. The lounge in back is considerably more clubby, and more often than not, food is an afterthought there. (A pool table occupies a back-back room, which offers refuge for the main space’s spillover.) Often humorless servers tend to get lost in the myriad of flashing projectors, constantly moving customers, and booming bass that make this a lively party room. Wisely, the moderately priced burger-serving part of this joint stays open an hour longer than the lounge on weekends, offering late-nighters alcohol absorption just before sunrise.
