Playa: Opening a new restaurant on the relatively packed 5th Ave. in Park Slope is a daunting task, but Playa looks like it'll be here to stay. Vibrant and flavorful pan-Latin dishes go for around $9, and though the menu focuses on seafood, carnivores will find a lot to love here. Bright décor and reasonable prices make this a great spot for a date, but you'll also feel welcome if you stop by the bar solo for a quick bite. Either way, make sure you ask for baskets of ancho chile-dusted popcorn. Playa has a limited beer list, so why not go all out with Latin cocktails made with fresh fruit? Better yet, go with friends and get the $16 Bonfire Bowl. Open Mon.-Thurs. 5pm-11pm, Fri.-Sat. 5pm-12am, Sun. 5pm-10pm. |
