Plan B (Brooklyn): Not really the name you want to associate with a night of excessive drinking. Plan B seems to be caught between a bar and a lounge space—too sleek to be a pub yet too gritty to be a lounge. B boasts four flat screen plasma TVs for sport fans as well as a spacious back patio for emphysema fans. The drinks, served by super-friendly bartenders, are typical as is the fare, with a few exceptions—the inside-out burger—a beef patty injected with a center of American cheese—and fresh-cut garlic and parmesan French fries. Not since steak stuffed with lobster has there been a culinary achievement of parallel magnitude. Food aside, if you’re looking for a slightly above par venue to relax and watch the game, then Plan B is a solid option, but otherwise this bar should serve just as its name suggests—as a backup. Open Mon.-Fri., 4pm-4am, Sat.-Sun., 10am-4am.
