Peter McManus: This old and unassuming neighborhood spot is an Irish pub with decent (and decently priced) food, crossed with a dive bar where local old men drink beer at an hour more commonly known as breakfast time. It’s just a little bit skeevy, but in a good way, with friendly service at the long, wood bar. It’s all around less expensive than the rest of pricey Chelsea that surrounds it. Peter McManus is more of a throwback for a well-done cheeseburger, a pint of McManus Ale, and tunes on the jukebox than a place to impress a date, but the crowd is sure to be colorful and it’s a refreshing break from the trendy spots this part of town is known for. |
