Persephone: Finally: no more hauling ass out to Astoria for authentic Greek cuisine. Partners Nicola Kotsoni and Steve Tzolis keep it real at homey but upscale Persephone, which means you won't be able to pronounce anything on the menu. The Greek meatballs with tomato sauce are a real treat, as is the pikilia-spread sampler, but if you're feeling brave, try the octapodi periyali, marinated and grilled octopus. If you just want to try something new in the liquid arena, Persephone also offers an impressive selection of ouzo-based cocktails. Don't be shy—those ouzo margaritas won't bite. Until the next day, that is.
