Perle: Finally, a welcome alternative to the Stone Street crowd. Featuring tarnished mirrors, tin ceilings, and old photographs adorning the walls, this little brasserie was designed to recreate the feel of a Paris from days of yore. The menu includes many traditional French dishes like escargot, filet mignon, and even (gasp) French fries. (We know, we know, that's technically a Belgian dish.) Usually the words "French restaurant" and, even worse, "Financial District" don't bode well for the money-conscious diner, but don't be too scared: Perle's moderately-priced menu is nothing to shy away from. Open daily noon-11pm.
