Perilla: If you can make it past flocks of intoxicated coeds and bands of girls with fanny packs off the tchotchke-ridden throes of W. 4th St., you’ll find a culinary oasis on quiet Jones St. that’s more than likely, tourist-free. Not only is this place pretty, but they've got an 80-bottle wine list that's heavy on the small artisanal producers. In fact, everything about this place is small and quaint, well, except its celebrity chef. Top Chef winner Harold Dieterle’s first venture has created somewhat of a hangout for the show’s alums, but here’s proof that reality television may not be all fluff after all.
