Perdition: Right in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen is where you would expect to find Perdition, but you wouldn’t expect it to look so nice. Exposed brick lines the walls of the front bar area, where Christmas balls hang from the ceiling, but not in an overly festive, annoying kind of way. Towards the back, cushy blue banquettes and low tables provide a more relaxing space, perfect for those confessional types of conversations. Two plasma TVs are tuned to the main sporting events—what, you were expecting a Billy Graham marathon?—and a rotating roster of DJs and live jazz bands provide quite lively entertainment for the underworld. A munchie menu of nachos, paté, and Australian-style meat pies complements the 16 drafts chilled using the Irish-imported Kilkenny system. In Perdition, a cold drink is serious business. |
