People: People is a very sleek bar in a very unfortunate location—it is nondescript enough that you would likely never even notice it. That said, People is another in a surprisingly long line of posher, more romantic spots on the Lower East Side, which is a surprising change from the crowds of Pabst-Blue-Ribbon-swilling hipsters who frequent the neighborhood and the self-esteem-lacking women who love them. Less crowded than its rivals, people is the place for a low-key but sexy night. The drinks are a bit pricier here, which helps to keep the riff-raff out, and in true LES form, despite being a nicer establishment, People will still let you order food at the bar.
