Beer goggles are unnecessary in the tiny Park Bar that is so dark everyone tends to look sexy. A few steps away from the Union Square craze of tourist shoppers and frenetic farmers market regulars, Park offers an away-from-it-all environment in a compact room. Bartenders are friendly and bar-goers bumping elbows are notably more jovial than bridge and tunnel crowds clawing their way into VIP nooks of alleged hotspots. The lengthy wine list, scrawled on the bar mirror, and necessary intimacy of the room tend to attract a warm and sophisticated crowd, but with an NYU dorm literally around the corner, newly legals looking for career advice trickle in as well.

Good people, great drinks, perfect set up. Anyone I have ever brought there, or who had the pleasure of being introduced to this place by me has loved it and in turn became some what of a regular. The place never fails...
