The Paramount Hotel has a sleek, minimalist ambiance whose light-colored tones check out at the entrance to this first-floor, tea-candlelit bar. Amid mirrors and dark-colored cushions, one can barely read the white writing on the slate walls where customers have left their marks. Midtown suits mingle with Times Square tourists and hotel guests here for the bright lights of Broadway, sipping classic drinks like cosmos and apple martinis and the occasional beer. The bartenders are a friendly lot and this loungey spot is a good place to linger before or after a night on the town. Happy hour is 6pm-8pm weekly, with $2 off all drinks.
