Pangea: Not only a bar and restaurant, Pangea is also home to what could be considered the largest wax mound in NYC, thanks to the gargantuan candle planted at the bar. This heap of dripping wax may come in handy as a conversation starter if you’re on a date that’s so bad discussing luminaries is necessary to end the awk-ward silence. With outdoor dining and an interior that makes you feel like you’re in a friend’s living room—plush couches with oversized pillows and table lamps—this is a nice place to take a date, bad or not. Try the bar’s specialty drink the “Pangea,” which is made of Pom juice, tequila, triple sec, and lemon. Another of the bar’s specialties is the mojito, which is made with pure sugarcane.
