Paladar: The name of this Pan-Latino restaurant is the Cuban word for small restaurants that are run out of people’s homes. And though the vibe is more ’80s Miami than modern hip, Chef Aaron Sanchez has designed a tempting cocktail menu and an array of colorful, authentic dishes such as chilled melon soup with crab salsa and the pan-roasted market fish served with coconut clam rice. On weekends, Paladar offers exceptional brunch menu items such as mango cheese empanadas. Wash it down with a Michelaada or a pint of Dos Equis Lager with a salt rim and lime juice for $5. If beer isn’t your thing, sip on an El Vampiro, a margarita prepared with hibiscus flower juice, cayenne pepper, and a salt rim…then dare someone to kiss you. |
