Overlook Lounge:
It’s a bold move giving your lounge the same name as the hotel in The Shining, and given the choice, I’d rather be trapped in the Overlook with an axe wielding Jack Nicholson than Midtown, but this spot doesn't have to be overlooked. Part club, part neighborhood hangout, the owners created a combination that works as well as cocaine and Pete Doherty. The outdoor deck has big screens where some meatheads watch the game, but hey, they're harmless. There’s pool, darts, and karaoke—just be prepared to listen to out-of-key drunks sing Journey and Foreigner. Their famous pomme frites ($3.95) will help you have more martinis on Mondays when it's $5 for apple, cosmo or Stoli flavors. Daily drink specials and 2-for-1 weekends from 12pm-9pm keep the predominately male crowd drunk, leaving those looking for chicks screaming redrum!
