Opal: If you’re glizted out on the Manhattan bar scene (it can happen to anyone, even an out-of-towner), then it’s time to hit Opal. This spot so totally has nothing to do with the trend-setting, here-are-my-Seven-jeans scene, you’ll think you’re in the outskirts of Poughkeepsie instead of Midtown Manhattan. For a real blast from the past, hit this place for Monday karaoke nights, when wings are marked down to 25 cents each and Bud Lights go for three bucks. Of course, two-for-one Tuesday (from 6pm-9pm) is easy to swallow, too. Opal features a live DJ from 5pm on, and its back room dance floor is totally legit, making this the place to pack it in when you’re overdosing on “Sex and the City” wannabes. |
