Old Castle Pub
If you believe that a man's pub is his castle, then this watering hole could be your slice of heaven. At least they give you a stone tower and a drawbridge to cross at the entrance, even if it is just faux masonry! After tossing back a few bottles of Long Trail Ale, you probably won't know the difference anyhow. Seems owner Matt Connell and his partners decided that if they were going to bring over a bit of the County Meath from their homeland, they might as well get literal. At any rate, as one of the few midtown spots where dinner entrees start at ten bucks, this place has probably already earned a listing in the registry of historic places. If you've ever mused over the tasting notes for bangers and mash, Sheperd's pie, and other staples of the Irish table, you might as well "quench your appetite" here. Besides, this pub won a Golden Apple award from the City for cleanliness. Now that's something to write home about! Check out their website for special coupon offers that help you save bucks, too.
