Nobu: The motto of this highly popular and innovative sushi utopia ought to be “No reservation, no NoBu.” And calling one week in advance won’t do the trick either; we’re talking a month’s notice unless you’re tight with Mr. Robert De Niro himself, who co-owns the restaurant with Chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa and Tribeca Grill restaurateur Drew Nieporent. Spoil yourself with Chef Matsuhisa’s omakase (his choice) and pretend someone else is picking up the tab; this adventure starts at $80. Otherwise, opt for one of the rolls from the extensive sushi and sashimi list. There’s also the black cod marinated in miso and the chocolate soufflé cake with green tea ice cream which everyone—us included—will continue talking about for years to come. |
