Nisos: Nisos brings some favorites from the Greek Isles to the heart of Chelsea, an unlikely place for quality Mediterranean food. The energy and the atmosphere are very inviting, and the regulars are friendly and festive. Nisos’ menu is on the steep side—pricier than other stops on the same stretch—but there’s an extensive list of Greek appetizers and entrées, heavy on the shellfish. (Don’t miss a generous helping of the grilled calamari.) French doors give way to a comfortable spillover into the street, weather permitting. The lobster tank makes for pretty lively décor, as do the upscale gay and straight couples who take advantage of having a little slice of Pelion on the block. |
