Nice Matin: On most evenings, this upscale Mediterranean restaurant is packed with diners vying for the best table. Lucky for you, they seem to ignore the brushed-metal bar, which is actually one of the best seats in the house. It provides a perfect vantage point from which to survey the room. Not only do the UWS patrons provide opportunities for visual stimulation, but the restaurant itself is quite a spectacle. Each section of wall is covered with different patterned wallpaper and the ceiling is decked with odd metal chandeliers, hung with bare light bulbs. Nice Matin offers 25 exotic beers and 21 wines by the glass, so you’ll have plenty to drink as you ponder what the owner was smoking when he agreed to this design scheme. |
