Nelson Blue: The fish market is gone, but meat market nightspots are popping up around the South St. Seaport like pantyless photos of Lindsay Lohan on the Internet. Nelson Blue (yet another gastropub) offers the casual Friday crowd New Zealand culinary creations to munch on while getting sauced in an upturned boat-like space. Slap on your khakis, mate, and cure your munchies with snacks like lamb skewers and toasted cheese. Even if you're not sitting in the bow near the impressive wine rack, the wine list is worth scoping out. Glass walls and open doors offer a charming "Kiwi-style" welcome, complimenting the light wood and the intricate etchings. There's even a mural of the "Other Land Down Under" right by the restrooms, but alas the toilets still flush the good ol' American way. |
