Nectar Wine Bar: Most wine bars seem to be full of a lot of stuffy, nerdish prigs. That outlook won’t fly too well in West Harlem, though, so get ready for wine-without-attitude at Nectar, one of the first of its kind in the area. Wooden accents and white acoustic paneling set the backdrop for a crowd of 20-through-40-somethings. It’s an upbeat and lively scene that still maintains the refined quality of your classic wine bar. You’ll find dozens of varieties of good but not crazy-exceptional reds and whites here. Prices are moderate with most glasses in the $10 range. A sure bet are the cheeses, spreads, and charcutiers curated by Martin Johnson of The Joy of Cheese. Try the Constant Bliss, a French-style cow's milk cheese made in Vermont. Need directions? Just take the A train to Harlem. Open Tues.-Thurs. 5pm-12am, Fri.-Sat. 5pm-1am, Sun 3pm-11pm.
