Natsumi:
Have you ever imagined what would happen if Iron Chefs Morimoto and Mario Batali had a culinary love child? The crew behind new Japanese-Italian restaurant Natsumi must have. Taking the fusion concept one step farther, Natsumi is bringing a dose of double trouble to midtown. There are two separate spaces. First there is the restaurant, where the Japanese-Italian menu includes the likes of green tea ravioli with lobster-mushroom filling and a thin crust pizza topped with seared salmon and buffalo mozzarella. Then there is the bar/lounge area serving crudo (raw Italian goods) and sushi paired with Italian wines and Japanese sake. With so much fusion under one roof you’ll soon be wondering why these two cuisines never teamed up before. Just imagine Don Giovanni in a kimono and you’ll see why.
