Nancy Whiskey Pub: Big draws of this standout pub are a shuffleboard table and a treehouse-loft perch overhang where you can sit upstairs and survey the scene. The drawback of the upstairs area is the greenhouse effect—it’s closed in by makeshift plastic walls, presumably to prevent moshing or keep drunks from diving into the crowd below, but the result is it’s hot like a mother up there. Still, go for the view of passionate shuffleboarders, off-duty cops, and post-office workers. Nancy Whiskey Pub has a prized “Jägerator”—a 7-11-style dispenser for the licoricey libation, located downstairs by the entrance. The perfect place for shots or a good old-fashioned collegiate drinking contest. |
