Myst: In the clubbing mall of the white-leathered West 20’s, when one club closes (Quo) another one (Myst) seems to open just as fast. Newbie Myst comes from nightlife vets, including co-owner John Englebert (JE), whose other establishments in the area include Retox and Pre:Post. The airy Myst offers an ample dance floor surrounded by tables and white patent leather banquettes teetering on tacky, but a curvy bar and mod chandeliers push the look to chic. Additional class is provided by a walk-through projection screen made of down blasting fog. And though the weekend crowd resembles a dressed up frat party, fierce dancers around the center pillar’s platform keep the vibe hot and the energy high. |
