Mulberry Street Bar: Bada-bing. Mulberry St. Bar is practically the official residence of Tony Soprano and his gang, and if you don’t believe us just take a look around—there are “Home to the Sopranos” t-shirts posted for sale above their liquor, and black and white photos from the good ol’ days hung on every wall. Karaoke is Mulberry’s G-rated substitute for the strippers the infamous mobsters usually have around for fun, and here it’s perfectly alright to wail as loud as you like, since the tunes are performed in a separate room which makes singing embarrassment-free for those who need privacy to show off their pipes. There are a few televisions planted on the walls if you would rather watch entertainment than be it, but if you want food at this wacky watering hole be prepared to order in, because the kitchen is non-existent. Mulberry St. is actually more bizarro Soprano than the real thing, perfectly portrayed by the “Tony’s Nut House” mural painted on the mirror over the bar, and the dubious “Chicks Dig Me” shirts donned by the bartenders. |
