Moto: Stepping into Moto, located directly under the JMZ as it rattles its way through the southern end of Williamsburg, is like a tall glass of water in the middle of the desert. The V-shaped bar mimics the wedge shape of the old-world European-inspired restaurant. From the carnival masks to the zebra puppet and the antique fixtures, every nook visually stimulates. The wire-covered dim bulbs hanging from the dark wooden rafters, some dangerously ambiguous metal pointed objects, and the wilting sunflowers give the place a particularly Goth, this-ain’t-Kansas feel. Live music plays nightly, attracting a hip but chill crowd. Tasty panini on crusted bread and the rich $6 Corsendonk beer are staples here and reason enough to say “Hello Moto.” |
