Morrell Wine Bar & Café: Madison Avenue wine maestro Peter Morrell wisely relocated his shop to the perennial tourist hub of Rockefeller Center, and next door he set up one of the most extensively stocked wine bars this side of the Atlantic. How extensive? Try 2,000 bottles. Overwhelming? No sweat—your choices are broken down into three easy categories: the Market List, the Reserve List, and the By the Glass List. If that’s no help, just cry Uncle, and one of the house’s self-acclaimed wine geeks will rush to the rescue. They’ll scurry to save your drinking experience with a wealth of wine knowledge, plus anecdotes on terroir and vinification that may actually turn you into a convert.
