Molly Pitcher's Ale House: If Ireland saw the lame bars the country has wrought around the world, they’d shut down the Guinness factory at once. Molly Pitcher’s represents yet another tame locale for the locals. It’s not that Molly isn’t a comely gal, though. The long barroom, buffed and shiny as a new penny, has plenty of elbow room for when those uptown financial sector-types throw an elbow. And there are plenty of televisions, along with a warm invitation from the house to come enjoy your favorite games. Drink specials are on offer as well, with a 4pm-7pm 2-for-1 happy hour, in addition to Irish dishes and brunch. The crowd, though, is purely button-down, starched shirts and frat boys. Ring up Molly the next time you’re stranded uptown and in need of a quick round. Otherwise, stick to your usual Irish haunt downtown. |
