Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction
Named for the owner’s cousin who allegedly attempted to assassinate Hitler, Mo Pitkins uniquely epitomizes the characters that make the East Village...special. C’mon, not too many places boast a Judeo/comfort food cuisine buttressed by mouthwatering bricks of baked mac ’n’ cheese and He’brew beer. This former fabric store is spacious, with four separate rooms on two floors; there’s a bar front and center downstairs before you hit the booth-filled dining room, while upstairs gets a hodgepodge mix of entertainment, including beloved drag king Murray Hill. If the comedy doesn’t do it for you, how about an Absolut Egg Cream? Bubby would surely approve.
