Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction: Named for the owner’s cousin who allegedly attempted to assassinate Hitler, Mo Pitkins uniquely epitomizes the characters that make the East Village...special. C’mon, not too many places boast a Judeo/comfort food cuisine buttressed by mouthwatering bricks of baked mac ’n’ cheese and He’brew beer. This former fabric store is spacious, with four separate rooms on two floors; there’s a bar front and center downstairs before you hit the booth-filled dining room, while upstairs gets a hodgepodge mix of entertainment, including beloved drag king Murray Hill. If the comedy doesn’t do it for you, how about an Absolut Egg Cream? Bubby would surely approve.
