Just like the Giants, Midtown’s bar scene might be making a comeback right when it’s needed most. Thanks to the opening of Mia Dona, corporate ladder-climbers no longer have to haul downtown from work for happy hour. Michael Psilakis (Anthos) and Donatella Arpaia's contemporary Italian fare is reasonably priced (entrees no higher than $24), and black and white decor throughout three rooms makes for a relaxed, chic atmosphere. Lighting is on the brighter side, and the crowd is on the older side, but what it lacks in sexiness it makes up for in service. The drink selection is affordable, although not very exciting—except maybe for five kinds of beer by the pitcher—but certainly passable. Do yourself a favor and add this one to your list after a long week.
