Marseille: Even though this Midtown bistro was designed in the 1940s, the Casablanca French-Moroccan style still holds up. One room has a chrome-top bar where anise-flavored Ricard is prominently displayed; a second room sports a tile floor, blonde walls, and dark mahogany tables that fill up with a mostly pre/post theater crowd. Portions are small, so don’t go in starving. Luckily the wine and beer list is not, so don’t fret about being thirsty. Over 30 beers—with nine of them being “big bottle” ales (25 oz.)—and 200+ wines are on a list separated by color, country, and region. We hope you brought your reading glasses. |
