The Manor really did a nice job in the space formerly known as Pink Elephant (PE has moved to 27th Street). Breaking from boring nightclub convention, DJs here dare to mix rock ’n’ roll into their hip-hop soundtracks and the crowd doesn’t look like the homogenous West Chelsea set. Diversity in Manhattan nightclubs? That’s crazy! Much of the now defunct Suede’s staff has turned up here and they know what they’re doing. They also spent $2 million renovating the super-swanky space. Upstairs, a bar area offers loitering room while the main space boasts a perfect balance of seating and dancing space. The lower level—yes, they found a lower level this space’s three previous clubs missed—is a small lounging area where the big plasma-screen TV is cool, but music plays on the quiet/muffled side.
I recently decided on having my birthday party at this location, and I totally regret it. The bouncer gave all my friends that were males a hard time to get in. He wanted them all to buy bottles...mind you the most inexpensive bottle is $275, plus tax & Gratuity, and im not talking Grey goose, ,. I already had a table/bottle, so when they asked for them to buy more i was litle upset about it. basically let me give you the math: I had 9 male guests, cover fee was $30, drinks were about $14, i know they would have purchased atleast 3 drinks....how much $$ is that, but no the bouncer refused to hear it and only wanted them to buy a bottle, at a ridiculus price when they dont all drink the same thing! my friends refused and left, its not about the money, b/c obviously it would have been cheaper for them to split the cost of the bottle,it's about the cockyness and the attitude that you get from these ridiculus bouncers! they seem to forget that we are the patrons spending the $ and without us they would only be guarding the doors of an empty club.

Awful
Went for new year's eve. Took us 1/2 hour to check our coats, 45 min wait for the bathroom and then....1.5 hours to get our coats at the end of the night, with one of my friends leaving without his, because they couldn't find it, despite having the ticket. Clearly they had oversold the venue, and to make it worse the staff was very ill-prepared to manage the crowds or lines, and turned to rudeness, which made things worse. On top of it, they had only two bartenders working that night, of all nights, and it was obvious that these two people were overwhelmed.
I understand the 31st is always a bit hectic, but I have spent several other new years eve nights in NYC and this was by far, the worst!
