Mad Dog & Beans: There are two types of people: people who have never taken a trip to Cancun, and people who got so trashed while there that they can’t remember it. Either way, Mad Dog & Beans—a lively two-level cantina in the Financial District—will give you a taste of that spring break-style abandon. Inside, MD&B's mix of exposed brick and dark wood is a good sign that both the tequila and the crowd are a bit more adult than you don't remember. But, hey, it's still a party, so once inside, order a Berta (tequila, syrup, lime juice and soda), grab some real estate near the bar and start getting your flirt on; it’s definitely that kind of place. And while neither the drinks nor the dinner menu are quite as cheap as Mexico, the place is still good deal for the neighborhood, and you won't need plane tickets to enjoy this night of drunken romance. |
