MacMenamin's Irish Pub: Let’s get this out of the way: South Street Seaport is a tourist trap, and the only good reasons to be down here are being a tourist, escorting tourists, or buying some tees at Abercrombie. Still, MacMenamin’s does help soften the blow. Located on the third floor of the Pier 17 mall in a space normally reserved for Sunglass Huts or an Orange Julius, this pub dishes out $5 pints and tasty, reasonably priced burgers. If you have flashbacks to that Bennigan’s from college, just step outside to the terrace and fugheddaboudit with the view of downtown Brooklyn across the river—then have another pint and remember that you were once a tourist too. |
