Luke's Lobster: In this city, it pays to know people. In the case of Luke Holden, his connection is his pop, a lobsterman on the shores of Maine. And that's exactly how Luke is able to "Maine-line" the best tender, tasty lobster meat directly from Down East to 7th Street daily. So keep that in mind as you try to claw your way in to this deservedly-popular shop. If you do get in, a bite of this sea-stuff is like transporting through some sort of tear in the seafood-space continuum. Rolls come posted on the menu at a $14—stuffed with succulent claws and just a hint of seasoning—and that's a pretty amazing price, considering how much you usually have to shell out for lobster. Best of all, you won’t end up looking like a cheapskate by having to ask what the MP is. Since this is a nightlife site, we feel compelled to mention that there's no booze yet, but expect a full liquor license come spring. By then, you may have very well sworn off of eating any other New York lobster roll again. |
