Loft: Add Loft to the growing list of downtown-style, trendy lounge/restaurants popping up on the Upper West Side. Loft is welcoming, with its candles and soft lighting, though it’s a bit boxy and modern artsy-feeling. And despite the muted tones to the place, it’s usually pretty loud inside. The food is an interesting Asian-Mediterranean fusion, but don’t expect it to fill your belly just because of the price; portions are small but tasty. Loft is much better enjoyed as a drinks-and-appetizers kind of place than a dinner destination. Either way, it’s a slam dunk for lovers on the make. |
