Locanda Verde: Just what Tribeca needs, another celebrity chef (Andrew Carmellini - A Voce), celebrity owned (Robert De Niro), and celebrity frequented "hot spot," right? Wrong. Spend a few minutes in this cozy space and it’s obvious that this ostensibly pretentious restaurant has more than star power to offer. It has craft Italian beer on tap, and an excellent wine selection, priced to drink by the bottle. Neither the common nor sophisticated wine drinker will be left unsatisfied. The fully stocked bar is manned by multiple speedy bartenders and has crunchy bread sticks to snack on while you await your table. Relax with a smooth, rich glass of red wine to end the work day. Seats at the bar are a commodity, but the lively, young crowd, quick service, rustic Italian ambiance and diverse wine list surely will not disappoint. |
