Lion’s Den: Low covers, good live music, a simple design, and strong drinks are the staples at Lion’s Den which lies, rather unsuspectingly, down a quiet side street in the otherwise rowdy Greenwich Village. Once inside, opinions change rather quickly. This venue, while popular among the NYU crowd (it’s 18 to enter, 21 to drink), caters to all creatures of New York life. Music is usually, but not limited to, reggae, hip-hop, and alternative rock. Space can be limited on a popular night, though this offers an intimate setting for both the performers and the audience. The drinks are stiff, but you just might have to give them the international sign for a Jack and Coke—this place has a roaring sound system. |
