Link: A knee-jerk reaction is to call a spot like Link cheesy, but with a great layout for moving through a post-Irving Plaza crowd and a flat screen big enough to call strikes on sparsely populated weeknights, it’s got quite a broad appeal. There’s a warm glow from three squares of lighting, suspended above each of the non-closed-off sections in the L-shaped space. The corner—where 15th meets Irving—holds the bar, where weekenders scope one another out, unaffected by the limit of barstools. Along the edges cushioned ledges are surprisingly comfy and offer a great view for wallflowers. Either offshoot has cushy booths, with the south end holding a dance floor for concert-goers wishing to continue the party. The small DJ booth stuck near the entrance pumps out some loud music, but the restaurant’s tables stay outside for cigarette and mental breaks. |
